For removing the intake manifold will drain the coolant (may partly so that its level was below the collector). Described in more detail in the article removing the cylinder head from the engine CRDI.

First you need to remove the top plastic cover. Then unscrew the fuel pipes from the fuel line and disconnect the two connectors. Described in more detail in the article Removing injectors Common Rail .

Fuel pipe unscrewed connectors are disabled

Remove the upper coolant hose from the intake manifold.

Unscrew the top alternator mounting (one screw is screwed into the generator, two others in the metal part on the engine) and remove it. Then you can unscrew the fuel line and put it away in the direction of, or remove, disable fuel plastic tube going from the injection pump.

Now you can unscrew the metal piece to which was attached a generator and the upper intake manifold bolts. If you look at the engine, standing in front of the machine, the right upper and left lower bracket-nut.

To loosen the lower left nut may have to move a little generator and unscrew the mounting location coolant pipe from the inlet manifold. Also, the lower left part of the reservoir to make another connection.

mounting pipe unscrewed the top and bottom tube removed

On the right side of the intake manifold throttle valve is located. It can be unscrewed and removed, you can not twist off, just loosen the clamp and throw off the air supply pipe.

It remains to contrive to remove the screws that are at the bottom of the collector. It's not so simple, but very real. It is difficult to give good advice. Here it is necessary to select various options heads, extension cords and joints.

Hi,

Thanks for the awesome tutorials. Can I request that you do one for EGR cleaning for the D4EA engine?

Thanks,

Wilmor

Hi Wilmor!

Yes, I will try, but not for D4EA engine, only for D3EA. It's the similar engine, but only three cylinders. I will make instructions by my photo archive. Now I have no ability to open engine.
